Garage

Cool things come out of garages – Parked in mine is a collection of ideas, thoughts and experiments; things I love to meditate on, things I feel I need to improve on. Things that have helped me on my journey, projects I’m working on and a few others for the future.

Album Art Redesign

Various album art redesigns (self-initiated) I have worked on. Something that I love spending time on. It is a fascinating process to create visuals based on repeated listening of these songs/lyrics and by freestyling on different ideas around the storylines. Featured here:
Selfless - The Strokes
From the Shadows - Leo Abrahams
Currents - Tame Impala
Autumn Hill - Jon Hopkins
Holiday - Green Day
We Got the Love - Anine Stang

Connections

During these times of isolation and quarantines, I was playing around with the idea of 'Connections' or at least a way to bring the feeling of togetherness. Made this piece by some topographic study on Cinema 4D to create the feeling of connection through intertwined lines and by creating a sense of depth. Planning to create a series on this.

Topographic experiments in Cinema 4D

Humans

No matter where we come from, or what skin colour we have, we are just flesh and bones. I wanted to highlight that fact here; without skin colours or realism. These visuals are a testament to the fact that the human body is beautiful and perfect with all its imperfections.
The text at the bottom says 'Shareeram' in my mother-tongue Malayalam (a south Indian language) which means body.

Internet of emotions

These visuals originated from my endless scrolling on social media and kind of thinking deeply about some of the subjects that we saw being discussed recently. I constantly found two worlds on my scrolls - one where things are extremely serious, people are frustrated, there's a lot of name-callings. Most of it was around the pandemic, politics and climate. And another side which is completely stress-free. Comments are funny and people are discussing the silliest of things. The second visual is a representation of one such funny comment - Press F to pay respects (Call of Duty reference)

Poster Experiments

A couple of posters from my daily typography and colour study.

Neural Network

Inspired by some podcasts from Andrew Huberman, I played around with this idea of neuron and the interconnected group of nodes. Experiments were done with some exciting colours to bring out this idea of electricity and transfer of information etc., that happens in the brain. This was also inspired by some of the sketches by Nidia Das, an artist/designer I have been closely following.

Day and Night

An attempt to combine illustration (on Procreate) and photography to create this piece about day and night. This is more of a colour and shape expreriment with Gouache style which has been on mind for a long time.

Colours hit home

These are various visuals made by taking inspiration from some of the colourful fesitivities back home in India. A lot of these pieces are inspired from Holi (festival of colour) and the dynamics of flowing colours.
The text in the middle one says 'Insaaniyat' in Hindi, which means humanity.

Untitled Collection

Various experiments in the past few years in the pursuit of understanding and learning different tools and art styles. The purpose is to improve as an artist/designer, every single day. And I believe in quantity over quality to get there.
